Ajay Kumar Tipanya

 from Indore, son of eminent Kabir Panthi Padma Shri Prahlad Singh Tipanya, is a Dholak artist.
He is one of the artists of "Khusrau Ke Rang", a musical narrative on Hazrat Amir Khusrau.

 

We had the opportunity to collaborate with the artists of the production.

Ankit Chadha

 ,a writer, researcher, and storyteller specializes in weaving new narratives for Dastangoi - the art of storytelling. His writing varies from biographical accounts of personalities like Kabir and Majaaz; to modern folk tales on corporate culture and digital divide. He has spoken on Dastans at platforms including Harvard, Yale and Princeton. Ankit works for young audiences as well, and has performed the Urdu adaptations of children's classics including Alice and The Little Prince. He is the author of "Amir Khusrau - The Man in Riddles" (Penguin) and “My Gandhi Story” (Tulika).

He was part of Wari Chapter 1 and narrated the Manipuri folk story "
Gupp".

Azhar Iqbal

is a poet and writer from Budhana, Uttar Pradesh and now lives in Meerut. He has marked his presence in the young poets of India. He has performed at numerous Mushairas in the country.

He is a script writer and is a founder member of Harfkaar Foundation which works for promotion of literature and theatre. He has worked as a host at numerous literary programmes produced by TV Channels as such Zee Salam, DD Urdu, DD National and All India Radio.

He presented the story "Bewakoofon Ki Saltanat"  in Urdu which is based a folktale in
Kannad language in Wari Chapter Two.

Bindhu Malini Narayanswamy

  from Bangalore is trained in Carnatic Music under eminent musicians such as Rama Ravi, Kiranavali, Mangalam Shankar and G.Madhavan. She is now studying Hindustani Classical Music and is a disciple of the renowned Padma Bhushan Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan Saheb.
She is one of the artists of 
""Khusrau Ke Rang", a musical narrative on Hazrat Amir Khusrau.
We had the opportunity to collaborate with the artists of Khusrau.

Himanshu Singh

is a Journalist by choice and Engineer by chance . He never says no to sipping a coffee and telling a story. He has also written audio stories for a popular Radio Show on Big FM.

Himanshu was selected from Octave's Leipung (Open Mic) in 2016 and he has been performing and also handling production logistics for multiple productions since then.

Madhavi Menon

is an aesthetically oriented individual in pursuit of ever juxtaposing India’s rich cultural traditions onto our daily lives. An avid storyteller, dancer and singer, she is striving to create an environment where freedom of expression, creativity and compassion are paramount. Writing, choreography, costume design and architecture fascinate her. She envisages a world free of cruelty towards animals.

Madhavi has made her debut with Wari Chapter Four presenting the story - Neelkanth, based on a folk story from Kerala.

Manzil Mystics

is a Delhi based choir band which has been singing the songs of Kabir in their own tune which is a mix Indian Classical and Folk fusion form.

We collaborated with the musical group for the musical narrative "Jashan-e-Kabir" on life and times of Kabir the 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint.

Mohd Faheem

 is an acclaimed singer/actor/director, Urdu poet, gifted soprano and Sufi maestro with Sanidhya band. He is currently a senior theatre faculty at Shiv Nadar School, Noida and a Fellow of the prestigious TEST (Theatre for Education and Social Transformation) M.A. Program at Shiv Nadar University.

He is one of the vocal artists of "Kabir Ki Vaani", a dance and musical narrative.

Rishabh Mittal

 is an actor, voice over artist and a writer based in Noida - Delhi NCR. He has worked with Atelier Theatre, Kaivalya plays, worked with Saif Ali as an Improv actor and worked with other Delhi based theatre groups. He directed ‘A reasonable doubt’, the annual theatre production (2012) of Shaheed Bhagat Singh college, Delhi University. He has also performed as a dancer with Shiamak Davar troupe on multiple occasions. He is trained in Hindustani Classical Music and Kalaripayattu.

 

He presented the story "Swar" in Wari Chapter 1.

Saif Ali

"works in New Delhi. He started his acting career in San Francisco. His performance repertoire includes improvised, scripted, experimental and immersive theatre (and dinner theatre!). Saif performed at venues across the Bay Area and appeared in the Night of the Improv Rising Stars at the Eureka Theatre in North Beach with the ensemble thursProv. Notably, he performed lead roles in David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago at the Beverly Hills Playhouse of San Francisco theatre (dir. Rob Zimmerman) and Feisal Alkazi's Noor at the BRAVA theatre. His film credits include award winning short-film The Zahir directed by Berkeley filmmaker Olga Holtz and the modern horror flick Sweet Kitty by Kurt Nangle. Saif was selected for the narrative lead in an experimental, site-specific theatre project, Art Behind Bars conceptualized by the Stanford Re-designing Theatre Initiative, that was performed on Alcatraz Island. Most recently, he appeared as the lead in the immersive play Shiva Calling directed by Charu Shankar. He co-directed the short play iStereotypnator that finished overall runner-up at Delhi Short & Sweet. Saif’s mission is to continuously offer his skills in the performing arts to the community. Stories can connect people with each other and help them to find their own answers through those interactions.

Shruti

is a theatre director, actor and facilitator in Delhi. She started facilitating children workshops with "Yellow Cat Co." in Delhi and went on to explore the same with students and teachers in Kashmir with "STEP Trust" a Delhi based NGO. She directs under her Delhi based group “T for Theatre”. She has also acted with the groups mentioned above and is open to collaboration and quirky ideas anyone might want to explore.                                is a theatre director, actor and facilitator in Delhi. Shyam Arts Group

The arts group from Manipur and based in Delhi have been part of different Wari productions.

Sudheer Rikhari

 is an actor, singer, music composer. Has worked with TIE co. He is a Sangeet Shiromani Diploma from Delhi University. MA in Hindustani Vocal. Currently singing with Susmit Sen chronicles.

He is one of the vocalists of "Kabir Ki Vaani" a dance and musical narrative. 

Sukrit Sen

 is a percussionist from Kolkata, West BengalSurojit. He is the son of  Surojit Sen who is a versatile singer from Bengal. He is currently pursuing architecture but has been associated with tabla for the last 19 years. He has been accompanying his father for almost a decade now.

He also is passionate about his music and has received many accolades in and across the country for his rhythm scapes on his tabla and other percussion instruments.

He is the accompanying percussionist artist in "Wari Padavali Kirtan Ki" a musical narrative on Padavali Kirtan of Bengal.

Surojit Sen

is versatile singer from Bengal. His expertise lies in Padavali Kirtan and has under gone training under the Diva of Padavali Kirtan, Geetashree Chabi Bandhopadhyay from the tender age of 8. He has also undergone professional vocal training in Hindustani Classical music under Padmavibhushan Girija Devi and focuses mainly in Tappas, Chaitis, Jhulas etc.

Though born and bought up in a business family, he has always been in deep connection with his music since childhood and has been actively participating all around the country for the last 40years.

He performed in the musical narrative "Wari Padavali Kirtan Ki".

Tarique Hameed

took on his theatrical endeavor 12 years ago working with 'institutions' of theatre like Salima Raza, Amal Allana, Banwari Taneja, Danish Iqbal, H.S. Shivaprakash, Samkutty Pattomkary, Soumyabrata Choudhury, K.S. Rajendran, Dev Raj Ankur, Mushtak Kak, Suman Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Anoop Trivedi. He has directed Topi Ki Dastaan, The Wave, Sara Ka Sara Aasmaan, Khamosh Adaalat Jaari Hai, Kabira Khada Bazaar Me, Pratibimb, Mahabhoj, Gandhi Park,The Birth of Dreamers and Ladka Hua  Hai. He is the founder member of Wings Cultural Society.

Tarique debuts with Wari in Chapter Four in the production team. His production "Topi Ki Dastan" under the Wings Cultural Society is being showcased in collaboration with Octave in select spaces.

Vedanth Bharadwaj

from Chennai has learnt Indian Classical music from Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan and is currently under the tutelage of Sri Ramamoorthy Rao. He is also trained in western classical music.

He is one of the artists of " Khusrau Ke Rang"  a musical narrative on Hazrat Amri Khusrau.
We had the opportunity to collaborate with the artists of Khusrau.

Vipin Heero

is a singer, songwriter, and composer with a unique style of his own. He is trained in classical guitar and has carved a niche for himself with the songs he writes, often amusingly based on daily life situations! He is also an actor and has appeared on television. Vipin also sings the poetry of Kabir.

He presented his compositions as a special artist at Wari Chapter 1.
